What Is Trump Planning for His Upcoming Visit to Saudi Arabia?
Donald Trump toured Saudi Arabia roughly on or about May 13th. He was not alone — Elon Musk went with him. Some other big business leaders joined as well.
This trip seemed more about business than pleasure. Trump wants to encourage Saudi Arabia to invest more money in America. Elon Musk also needs funding for his projects. He’s working on things like robotaxis, humanoid robots, Starlink internet and his AI company xAI.
Saudi Arabia has a lot of money from oil. But now they want to invest in new technology as part of their “Vision 2030” plan. They want to grow and build a modern economy beyond oil. So this meeting worked well for both sides.
Trump got a warm welcome. Musk shared his ideas and it paid off — Starlink was approved for use on ships and planes in Saudi Arabia.
Big deals were also discussed. A $142 billion arms deal with U.S. companies was announced. Even more — Saudi Arabia promised to invest $600 billion in the U.S. and that number could grow.
Other topics came up too, like Saudi Arabia’s ties with Israel and issues with Iran. But the main goal of the visit was clear — business, tech and big investments.
