Trump Receives New Plane at No Cost — But Does He Truly Deserve It?
The U.S. President flies on a special plane called Air Force One. But the current planes are getting old. New ones have already been ordered and should arrive around 2027.
Now imagine this — a former president is offered a “free” plane as a gift from another country. At first, that might sound like a good deal. But there’s more to the story.
The plane isn’t ready to use. It needs a full upgrade to meet the needs of a president. That means adding strong security, safe communication systems, and other special features. This fix-up could take years and cost hundreds of millions of dollars.
And who pays for all of it? The taxpayers.
By the time the work is done, the new official Air Force Ones will already be ready. So we might spend a lot of money on a plane that isn’t used much. After that, it could end up in a private museum — a very expensive project, paid by the public.
There’s also a security risk. A plane from another country could come with hidden spy tools or tracking devices.
So while the plane may be called a “gift,” it could end up costing a lot and causing big problems.
