Public Reactions to the Election of Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost as the New Pope

Let’s pretend that something imaginary exists – a “what if” story. What if Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost was the new Pope? And do remember Pope Francis is the real Pope. This is just an idea.

In this narrative Cardinal Prevost is elected Pope within one day. He’s from Chicago USA. He selects the name Pope Leo XIV. That name is relevant because a previous Pope Leo XIII had a lot of concern for work, fairness and the poor.

Prior to becoming Pope Cardinal Prevost headed the Augustinian order and did math in school.

But that’s where things get interesting. People say this new Pope is a registered Republican. Not long afterward he starts posting things online that surprise many. He writes a message referring to Jesus as a “migrant” and even slams a politician named JD Vance.

This irritates some people, especially in certain political groups. They begin to argue on the internet and accuse the Pope of being too political or against them.

This fake story shows how much attention a Pope can get, especially if he is from America and talks about today’s hot issues. It shows how fast religion can mix with politics and cause strong reactions.
