Is Ukraine Targeting the Moscow Victory Day Parade with Missiles and Drones?
Ukrainians attacking Russia is something people have been wondering about lately, especially with Russia holding a big Victory Day parade in Moscow on May 9th. Some believe Ukraine could strike Russian military spots using drones or missiles that day.
Ukraine’s president Volodymyr Zelenskyy talked about it. He said Ukraine can’t promise safety for world leaders who choose to attend the parade. If they want to go and stand next to Russian President Vladimir Putin, that’s their choice. However Ukraine does not want to be held responsible if something goes wrong in Moscow or anywhere else in Russia that day.
Zelenskyy made it very clear that Ukraine isn’t the one in control of what happens inside Russia. That’s Russia’s job. He warned that Russia might cause an explosion or fire and then try to blame Ukraine to make them look bad.
He also said Ukraine is not to blame for what’s happening in Russia now. “That’s just the truth.”
At the same time one of Zelenskyy’s close aides posted an image on Telegram that said “We only brought closer this day as we could.” It’s a line from an old Soviet song about Victory Day and is seen by some as a hint that something big could happen.
Because of all this some think Ukraine might send drones to Russian airfields or military targets on May 8th or 9th. Even if it only sets off alarms it would still pressure Russia’s air defense.
So May 9th might be a risky day for anyone near Putin.
