China's Perspective on Trump's Trade Policies: A Closer Look
Trump then placed extra taxes on things that China sells in the United States. These are called tariffs. Next, Trump’s trade advisor Bessent told China to come get a deal.
But China said no. They want the U.S. to remove the tariffs before having any talks. China is no longer waiting. It is making trade deals with other countries.
China won’t change its mind even though Bessent keeps asking them to come to the table.
Countries such as China, Japan, South Korea and many others from Asia also had a meeting. All of them say they do not like the U.S. tariffs. Now they try to import and export more among themselves instead of with the U.S.
They do not want to be dependent on the U.S. anymore. So they are building their own trade deals and creating something new in Asia.
In other words, Trump’s tariffs are forcing these countries closer together. The taxes are making the U.S. lose influence instead of fixing trade problems. Now Asian countries are focused on helping each other not the U.S.
It looks like they are starting their own trade team without America.
