Trump's Endless Greed: Now He Wants to Be the Pope?
Whereas when things go badly for a politician like Trump—be it bad poll numbers or bad news—people begin talking about problems. For instance, it may be that the economy is doing poorly, that people have lost jobs or people are upset about immigration or trade.
Suddenly the politician utters something weird, something like “I want to become the Pope.” Actually it is silly and isn’t serious at all but it draws attention.
Why do this? They just did it as a trick so people would not pay attention to real problems. Normally everyone would discuss the economy or the laws but suddenly they start discussing this weird comment.
It was spread on social media and the news by supporters. Sooner or later people’s focus becomes that. The real issues are forgotten.
Next time you hear an outrageous or bizarre comment when in the dumps, think of it as a distraction. What truly matters—jobs, prices and policies—is not affected.
